Where does your house price information come from?
|
| The house price information used on this site is licensed from the Government Agencies responsible for maintaining The Land Registers. In England & Wales this function is undertaken by the Land Registry and in Scotland this same
function is provided by the Registers of Scotland. |

Why should I pay for a report when the house price information is free?
|
While it is interesting knowing individual sale prices only our reports can show you the price trends for the specific area that you choose.
You're not forced to get a report on a whole postcode sector if all you want to know about is the local neighbourhood. And of course we include more than just house prices in our reports which have 4 different sections containing easily understood profiles of the local neighbourhood and its people (derived from the Census of Population).
Check out our complete guide to Our Reports.

I have spotted what appears to be incorrect information?
|
| The quality of the information we receive is excellent but with up to 150,000 transactions being managed every month mistakes can happen. If you believe you have found an error please contact us with the details of what you have found and we will pass this on to the relevant agency. |

Occasionally the number of sales reported at street level is not the same as the number of sales shown once I have clicked on the street?
|
Don't worry, you have not found an error. There are two situations where you may see this.
- The first is when we exclude commercial, land and some other sales from the street summary page to prevent these non-residential sales from adversly affecting the average and maximum price statisitcs.
- The second is when you search by map, proximity or full postcode. In these situations the type of search undertaken looks for sales closest to your search location. When the street summaries are prepared only the sales
nearest to the search location are considered and it is therefore possible that only part of a street is being summarised.
When you click on the street name you are alway shown all sales.
